Easy Homemade Sausage Gravy Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Place the sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook and crumble over medium-high heat until evenly brown.
  • Add all-purpose flour and mix until combined. Turn the heat down to medium.
  • Gradually, stir in the milk. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring continually. Simmer 10-15 minutes.
  • If the mixture becomes too thick, add additional milk, a few tablespoons at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Serve warm over biscuits, toast, eggs, or hash browns.
