Ingredients

  • 1 lb. large ripe, strawberries, washed and dried
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  • In a small ceramic microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips, butter, and light corn syrup. Set the microwave for 50% power and cook for 30 second intervals.
  • Remove from the microwave and stir until smooth and melted. If needed, repeat cooking in the microwave until the desired consistency is reached. Up to 3 minutes.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and stir.
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a toothpick inserted into the top of each strawberry, dip the berry in the melted chocolate. Allow the excess to drip off before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Place the remaining melted chocolate in a small Ziploc bag. Snip the end and drizzle it back and forth over the dipped strawberries to decorate. If you want to add sprinkles, now is the time to do it before the chocolate sets.
  • Let the chocolate covered strawberries rest for 30 minutes until the chocolate is firm. Store the dipped berries in a large airtight container in the refrigerator.
