Easy Cinnamon Cornflake French Toast

Thick slices of French Bread are dipped in a light egg batter, then dipped again in toasted, buttery, crispy, cinnamon sugar-coated Corn Flakes! A wonderful tasty Breakfast Treat!

Ingredients
  

  • 8 Slices French Bread cut 1 inch thick
  • 4 Cups Cornflakes
  • 2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 Large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ Cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil and 2 Tablespoons butter

Instructions
 

  • Place cornflakes in a gallon size Ziploc bag and crush with a rolling pin, or in your food processor.
  • Place crushed cornflakes in a medium size bowl. Add sugar and cinnamon. Mix to combine.
  • In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt 2 Tablespoons butter. Add cornflake mixture. Toast in melted butter until golden brown and sugar has caramelized.
  • Remove cornflakes from skillet and place in a large shallow dish.
  • In another shallow whisk together eggs, vanilla, and milk. Mix until well combined.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil and butter. Preheat.
  • While the skillet is preheating, place a slice of bread in egg custard batter, soak both sides. Gently press soaked bread into cornflake mixture, coating both sides.
  • Place coated bread slices in preheated skillet. Cook until golden brown on both sides, flipping once.
