Ingredients

  • 1 8 ounce package refrigerated crescent rolls, or crescent dough sheet
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder optional
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese or blend
  • ½ cup shredded monterey jack cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° (F). Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick baking spray.
  • Unroll the crescent dough sheet and place in the bottom of the baking dish. If using roll dough, press the seams together and press the edges up the sides if there is excess. Bake for 5 minutes.
  • In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook and crumble the breakfast sausage with a spatula. Transfer to a paper-towel lined plate to absorb any excess grease.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Whisk in the milk, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Sprinkle the sausage over the dough. Spread 1½ cups of cheese evenly over the sausage. Pour the egg mixture on top.
  • Halfway through your bake time, top with the remaining ½ cup of cheese.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the casserole comes out clean. Let cool a few minutes before serving
