Salty and Sweet Rolo Pretzel Turtle Bites are the perfect Holiday treat. Great as a neighbor or teacher gift. The sweet lovers in your life will love these delicious little bites of chocolate, caramel, and pecans perched on top of a salty pretzel.
With the Holiday quickly approaching some of you may not have had time to do all the Christmas baking you wanted to do! (I may be speaking for myself! Ugh! But, why does Christmas feel more like a deadline than a Holiday?!)
So if, like me, you’re looking for a quick and easy last minute goodie for a neighbor gift or a little something extra to add to your cookie tray…these delicious sweet and salty easy Rolo Pretzel Turtle bites can help ya out!
How to Make Rolo Pretzel Turtle Bites
Preheat oven to 250°. We want a low oven for melting chocolates, not baking them.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or silicone mats. Place one pretzel for each pretzel bite treat desired on prepared baking sheet. I recommend making at least 20. That ought to be enough for one sitting. Lol
TIP: Small pretzels are used in this recipe. You can use mini twists or these fun square pretzel bites. Both will work.
Top each pretzel with one unwrapped chocolate covered candy. (I highly recommend unwrapping the candies! Just sayin’….) As you can see, I made more than 20…cause its chocolate and caramel… and they’re so easy to make!
Place baking sheet into preheated oven and bake 3 to 5 minutes or until chocolate caramel candy piece begins to soften, but not melt. Keep a close eye on ’em.
Top each candy with a pecan half. Don’t those look delicious?!
You can stop right here, but I wanted to dress them up a bit. They are, after all, a Christmas candy. They need to be extra pretty for Santa and his helpers. Especially the “Mom” Elves!
Making White Chocolate Drizzle
In a small ceramic or glass bowl add 1/2 cup White chocolate melts. Follow melting instructions on the back of the package. I like to adjust the microwave power to 50% and melt for 3 minutes.
Stir chocolate melts until smooth and creamy.
Using a spoon drizzle melted white chocolate over the top of each pecan topped pretzel. Not only does this dress these Pretzel Turtles up a bit, the extra chocolate helps hold the pecans down on top of the Rolo candies. Ya don’t want one flying off and poking an eye out!
Allow chocolate to dry in a cool place. Once chocolates have set up, remove them from the parchment paper or silicone mat, and store in an airtight container.
These candies look amazing stacked in a candy dish. They are crunchy, salty, and sweet! They’ll cure any craving you have for that dynamic combination.
I love how quickly these treats comes together! There’s nothing better than a special homemade goodie that doesn’t take hours to make.
