With just a handful of ingredients that you most likely have in your pantry, and a bit of creativity, Bugles transform into the ultimate fall snack that captures the warmth and joy of the season. Its crunchy, sweet, and salty combination is perfect for sharing with family and friends this time of year!

Every week Taryn, my daughter, and I try to share a recipe that is viral on TikTok. A little something we like to call “TikTok Tuesdays”. You can see each new episode on my Instagram Stories.

A few weeks ago, we whipped up a batch of the Viral Funky Frito Fruckies Recipes! I know, I know, what a name right?! What’s a “Fruckies”? (I had to look it up, friends! It sounded like something my two-year-old grandson made up!) It’s where savory salty Fritos are drizzled in a wonderfully sweet, rich caramel-peanut butter sauce and topped with melted chocolate and chocolate candies.

I’ll be honest, we were both a little skeptical of the combination. However, once made, we couldn’t stop eating them! The sweet and salty combo is wonderful! It got me thinking (a rare thing these days…but we went with it! As shocking as it was) …”What if we made the same recipe only with Bugles and added Fall candies for a fun Autumn treat?”

Believe it or not…we like the Bugles even better! We think you will too!

  • 1 – (14.5 ounce) Family Size bag of regular Bugles.
  • 1 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup candy corn
  • 1 cup Halloween M & M’s
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts
  • Fall Sprinkles
Ingredients for Bugles Snack Mix.

You’ll need a large baking sheet pan and a large sauce pan for this recipe. This is a stove top recipe and no oven baking is required. It’s quick and easy. We love an easy-to-make treat!

Place the bugles on a large baking sheet pan, sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside while you make the ooey-gooey caramel-peanut butter sauce.

TIP: If you don’t have a large baking sheet pan, you can use two sheet pans or even a large metal bowl.

In a large sauce pan, add 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of light corn syrup. Stir to combine.

Sugar and light corn syrup in a large sauce pan on the stove top.

Over medium-high heat, stirring continually, bring the mixture to a full boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly, making sure the sugar is completely dissolved.

Remove the pan from heat and add one cup of creamy peanut butter. That’s it, just three ingredients to make this delicious caramel peanut-butter sauce.

Add peanut butter to the boiling sugar mixture.

Stir to combine. The peanut butter will melt beautifully into the hot syrup and create a creamy sauce for your bugles snack mix.

Carefully, as the sauce is VERY hot, pour caramel-peanut butter sauce over the bugles on the baking sheet. Try to cover as many bugles as possible. This mixture is super sticky and hard to “toss”…but we’re going to try any way!

Working quickly, use a silicone spatula to toss the bugles in the caramel-peanut butter sauce.

TIP: While the caramel sauce is still warm, using two forks, pull the bugles apart the best you can to form a single layer! This will help prevent them from forming big “clumps” as the mixture sets up.

While the caramel sauce is still warm and working quickly, sprinkle the coated bugles with candy corn, peanuts, M&M’s, and fall sprinkles. Using a spatula, press the candies into the caramel coating.

I’m not a huge candy corn lover. Now chocolate is another story! I use a lot of Holiday M&M’s for my bugles mix. You could also top it with chopped peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, or even drizzle it with melted chocolate. Use your favorite Halloween candies to make this mix as festive as you like.

Let the mixture cool slightly, about 30 minutes, before serving.

TIP: It is easier to break the mixture apart before it sets out too long. However, the mixture can set until completely cool, then broken apart and stored.

There are so many ways to serve this addicting snack mix! Especially if you’re hosting a party! Here are a few of my favorites.

  • Place the broken mixture in a large festive holiday bowl or pie plate.
  • Using smaller, individual, sized, holiday cups, place servings of snack mix for an easy “grab-and-go” snack. I find mine at the dollar stores.
  • Place servings in clear cellophane bags tied with cute holiday ribbon to pass out as a party favor.

Store snack mix in large airtight food storage containers or large zip-lock bags for up to a week in your cupboard.

Whether you’re hosting a cozy movie night or looking for a fun snack to bring to a fall party, or hosting a holiday party, this easy-to-make recipe will have everyone coming back for more! (We can verify this as a true and factual statement!)

Happy Nesting Friends!
