Fluff Salads speak to my inner salad soul! What’s not to love about a dessert that masquerades as a salad? Okay in all seriousness…this Strawberry Pineapple Fluff Jello Salad is light and creamy. Loaded with fresh chopped strawberries, pineapple bits, mini marshmallows, and topped off with coconut cookie crumbs it is truly a delightful spring time salad that your family will be requesting you bring to every Family Reunion this Summer! You? Well…you’re gonna wanna hide in the back of the closet with a spoon and have your own personal “Fluff Salad” party!
Soups, Salads, & Sandwiches
I love salads…but I’m lazy when it comes to making them. I don’t like prepping the lettuce! Pathetic…but true. So when I saw this idea for a Wedge Caesar Salad…I yelled “Stop the boat and let me aboard!” In every aspect this is one AMAZING salad. It’s easy to prepare and it’s SO delicious! You’re gonna love this one my friends!
Not to sound like a broken record…but…the side dishes make the meal! Seriously! What is Turkey without stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, candied yams, homemade buttery rolls, and all your favorite holiday salads? It’s just a big awkward bird sitting in the middle of your dinning table! Oh sure…the “Turkey” got an honorable mention in “Scrooge”…but only because this salad wasn’t on menu! If it was…he would have leaned out the window and asked the boy to go “Fetch” him the pan of Cranberry Orange Jello Salad! Then even that crabby miser could have won my heart!
This time of year life seems to speed up with holiday activities. (Like from zero to 110 in one point one second!) It’s hard to keep up with everything AND have a delicious warm meal when dinner time rolls around. Don’t fill up on all that fast food. It’s the perfect time to utilize your slow cooker! This creamy flavorful soup is perfect for those busy winter weeknights.
There are few comfort foods that touch the soul and remind you of childhood like Chicken Noodle Soup! I’m talking about a thick hearty chicken noodle soup like Grandma used to make. Where the smell of it cooking wafts through the house and wraps around you like a warm blanket on a cold winters day. THIS is THAT soup!
I absolutely love a one pot meal! They’re perfect during busy week nights. A family favorite at our house has always been Chicken and Dumplings. I wanted to change things up a bit so I decided to come up with a quick and easy Creamy Chicken Broccoli soup and do something wild by throwing in cheesy dumplings! I promise this dish is so easy even the newest cook can make this wonderful dish!
Have you ever added pasta to your green leafy salad? I have and I did, and it’s awesome! Then I added marinated sauteed shrimp, croutons, avocado, and a creamy Caesar dressing to create one amazingly delicious salad. It’s more than salad. It’s a meal!
One of the best things about summer is all the delicious fresh fruits and vegetables available. I especially love fresh fruits…blackberries, strawberries, pineapple, apricots, peaches, and plums. So many to chose from. Not too many things better on a hot summer day than a bowl full of cold fruit salad. Each bite packed full of amazing fruity juices. So the last thing we want to do is cover up all that fruit in a blanket of cream dips and dressing. Let’s allow the fruit to be the star! It’s spent months growing into perfection…it needs to shine. The simple Honey Poppy Seed dressing in this salad allows that to happen splendidly! Wanna join me for a cup of this Honey Poppy Seed Fruit Salad?
Friends this is the post I thought would NEVER happen! Not because it is earth shattering…it’s corn salad for Pete’s sake…but because I thought that nasty stomach bug had set up permanent residence here at this Nest! I’m still not 100% confident in saying it got the “evacuation notice”? I’m just happy to say this Frito Corn Salad is making it’s long over due Grand Debut!!! This salad is a MUST have for your recipe book. Once you make it…it’s here to stay…kind of like that dang bug! lol
I’ve got the perfect burger for your Memorial Day Weekend, or for that matter…any outdoor summer BBQ you’ve got planned! What’s better than a bacon cheeseburger? An “Inside Out” Bacon Cheeseburger! That’s right…let’s take delicious lean ground beef and stuff it with cheddar cheese and bits of crispy bacon? Then let’s load that beauty with all our favorite toppings…ripe tomatoes, green leave lettuce, red onion, pickles, and creamy avocado. I think it’s the perfect way to say “Hi Summer! Let’s get this party started!” It’s totally “Smoosh” worthy! (If you don’t know what “Smoosh” worthy is…they hot dog table is over there…lol!)
