If you’re looking for a GREAT carrot cake this is it! It always receives rave reviews when I serve this cake! Even to those who aren’t carrot cake fans love this cake. I searched high and low to find this recipe. I wanted one without raisins, because they are evil and should not be in baked goods…but one that was packed with all kinds of other fantastic ingredients! It’s Tip Tuesday! I’m sharing my handy dandy tip for making early morning breakfast smoothies a breeze. I’m sure we have, or have had, that one child who is always running late and never has time for breakfast. I realized when my daughter was a Senior in High School I had to come up with a healthy, quick, and delicious breakfast she would actually want and that she could consume while driving to school. She loves fruit so I realized I could do smoothies, but buying frozen fruit can be expensive! I wanted something really quick and easy. This was my solution. I hope it helps you too! This is perfect for everyone! Working Mom’s, toddlers, college students, anyone who doesn’t have a lot of time in the morning, but wants to have a delicious and nutritious breakfast.
It could be my English blood, but I love muffins, biscuits, and scones! I’m a huge fan of baking powder and baking soda breads! They are so easy to make when you are in a hurry and looking for something yummy! When done right they are light, flaky, and a carb lovers dream come true! Last week I was looking for something to smother with my freshly made peach jam. These Peaches and Cream scones filled the bill! I think you’ll love them as much as we did!
I was busy canning peaches this week and helping my daughter dehydrate cinnamon apple slices. What to make for dinner was not high on my priority list. Not to mention, after canning all day, the last thing I wanted to do was cook! What I needed was a meal I could toss into the crock pot that morning and forget about it till dinner time. I have been craving a chicken and wild rice soup! I’ve seen a lot of recipes for them but, they all had a lot of “steps” and I was looking for a “lazy soup”! So, I decided to make my own! This creamy chicken and wild rice soup is the result! Thanks to my handy-dandy crock pot, the house smelled heavenly all day…almost like Thanksgiving! This is my new favorite “go to” soup recipe for the upcoming cold Fall and Winter months! It’s delicious! Seriously… It’s REALLY delicious and SO easy! You’re going to love it and so will all the other birdies at your Nest! Come take a peek…
