If you can boil water and love seafood… I have the perfect end of summer dish for you and the birds at your Nest! I’ve dreamt of making this meal for as long as I can remember and decided this Labor Day was the day! A seafood boil is easy, fun and mouth-wateringly delicious! The key is using the freshest ingredients you can find. Especially the seafood! You are going to want to squeeze this in before summer is over! It’s going to be our newest family tradition! Yeah, it’s THAT good! Best part…I’ve scaled the size of the normal boil down in case you want to make it for “a table of two”!
Today I’m sharing a memory! My Dad made the BEST Macaroni and Cheese! He really did! Last week I was craving it like CRAZY and decided even if it was the end of summer, and a bit hot outside, I still wanted a nice big plate of comforting cheesy goodness. I was pretty sure the family wouldn’t complain since it is one of their favorites too! If you’ve never made Macaroni and Cheese from scratch you have to try this recipe. I’m walking you through it step-by-step, just like Dad did with me, and you’ll be surprised how simple it is to make. You’ll also love the blend of rich creamy cheese over thick and hearty macaroni all topped with a buttery Panko crust! (The Panko crust was my little addition! I don’t think Dad would mind!) Come have a peek…
Canned biscuits are tossed in a spiced pumpkin batter and placed in a loaf pan to create this intoxicatingly delicious and fun Pumpkin Spice Bubble Bites!
With Fall approaching I’m craving family favorite’s! Like this yummy Chicken Tortilla Casserole. A flavorful and easy chicken casserole that reminds me of rich creamy chicken enchiladas! A great weeknight meal for the entire family and as a bonus… it can be made ahead of time! Which is so nice with school back in session and schedules getting busier. You’re gonna love this one!
Fall is in the Air! I see the golden yellows starting to top all the trees. I’m ready for football, apple cider, cool crisp air, plaid blankets, and pumpkins! I love pumpkins and I love baking with pumpkin! I’m nicely exiting out Summer and welcoming Fall with this wonderfully dense and nicely spiced pumpkin pound cake topped with a sweet rich homemade walnut sauce. Howdy Fall! Come on In!!!
I love our tradition of Sunday Family Dinners with our married children! It brings us great joy to sit around the table and share a family meal together. I love to find amazing side dishes to serve to my “meat and potato” guys. This old family favorite Cheesy Party Potato Casserole is extra yummy because of the crunchy corn flake topping!
Happy Monday! I’m starting this week out right by sharing my VERY favorite Bran Muffin recipe with you. WAIT! Don’t Run Away! I promise this is not your typical “rubber ball” bran muffin. It’s light, airy, moist, flavorful and will be one of your family’s very favorite muffin recipes. Best part…(there’s always a “Best Part”)…you can make them up today and store them in your refrigerator for up to 7 weeks and bake them off when needed. Some tonight…some next week! This recipe ALWAYS receives RAVE reviews! I promise…cross my heart! Don’t let that “B” word scare ya!
As promised…I’m sharing the cupcake photo’s from Ally and Spencer’s wedding! It was a wonderful evening and they are a beautiful couple. They held the wedding and reception in a darling venue…a little barn in Draper, Utah. It was the perfect setting for these fun and flavorful cupcakes!
Today I’m sharing a wonderful Cherry Crumb Coffee Cake. Yum! I’m a coffee cake fan! Always have been. What makes coffee cake… coffee cake? The batter is heavier than your usual cake batter. It’s one of the reason’s the “bundt” pan was invented and became popular in the 1950’s. The hole in the center allowed for the heavier batter to cook all the way through without having the center still “doughy” and uncooked. They also generally do not have frosting. The tradition of coffee cake came from the Danish around the 17th century when it became custom to have a sweet cake with their coffee. Maybe it’s the English blood that runs through my veins but, whatever the reason…I just know I L.O.V.E. a good, easy to make, coffee cake and…THIS is all that and more! Come take a peek…ya know ya want to!
