Labor Day is right around the corner! I’ve put together a collection of our favorite summer recipes…from grilled main dishes to fantastic fresh desserts! There’s sure to be a few here that your family and guest will love!
Whats Cooking
Today’s post is dedicated to my Grandma Helen! My biggest cheerleader and the most adventurous soul I’ve ever known. Which is probably why she wasn’t afraid to try this Pea Salad when she first saw the recipe. She loved trying new unique recipes. It didn’t long before this salad was expected to be at every family function. It’s gonna take you by surprise!
I know it’s not Fall yet! A girl can dream though right? When I think of Fall…I can’t help but think of one of my favorite sides. Stuffing! This easy and delicious slow cooker stuffing is made with Chateau Bread Dumplings! It’s a game changer for sure!
There’s a small Mexican restaurant here in our hometown that has the BEST Chili Verde sauce! I have them put it on everything I order. I’ve wanted to replicate it for a long time! This Instant Pot easy Chili Verde is as good as the version our little hometown restaurant makes. It’ll knock your socks off!
My love of carbs kicks into high gear when it comes to homemade bread! It’s my weakness! I love how the smell of baking bread can envelop my entire home! There is nothing better than a nice thick slice of fresh, hot, out of the oven, bread with a slab of melting butter. This Homemade Soft French Bread is the perfect bread! It’s quick, easy, tender, and delicious! You’re gonna love this bread recipe!
One of my very favorite cookies on the planet have to be the Classic Snickerdoodle! Covered in a light cinnamon sugar, soft, tender, and chewy! They remind me of my childhood! I love to dunk them in hot chocolate or have a few with a big tall glass of ice cold milk! This is the BEST recipe I’ve found and I love that they don’t use cream of tartar…because I’m usually out of it!
I’ve spent years trying to create the perfect Classic Potato Salad. I finally nailed it! Thanks to tender red potatoes, hard boiled eggs, and all the other traditional ingredients. The mustard dressing will have you reminiscing about the potato salad Grandma used to make. So Yummy!
Grilled Salmon and Apricot Bruschetta is the perfect start to any summer meal! A bowl full of golden dried apricots, feta cheese, basil, toasted pecans, and a balsamic dressing create this delicious bruschetta. Combined with grilled Salmon it’s a spectacular beginning or evening sunset finger food.
Summer time and Fresh Squeezed Homemade Lemonade go together like Sandy and Danny! On a hot summer day…it cools ya down as fast as Grease Lightening! (Yes, I’m using movie puns!) In all seriousness though…sitting on the front porch with a tall glass of Ice cold lemonade is as good as it can get! I’m sharing my secret to really GREAT homemade lemonade! Come join me for a glass…
Grilled Salmon on a bed of crispy, crunchy green apple slaw loaded with green apples, dried cranberries, walnuts, and so much more. It’s a quick easy dish that is perfect for a dinner party or a warm summer night. Either way it’s sure to be hit at your Nest.
