I love the tastes and smells of Fall! This cake is one of my favorite annual traditions and it started years ago with one of my aprons. That’s right..my Apron! What? Doesn’t your Apron give you delicious cake recipes? Hmmm…maybe mine is magical? Okay it’s not really magical…but this recipe is!
Holiday Dishes
I’m ready for big beautiful orange pumpkins, red and yellow leaves, orchard fresh apples, apple cider, and the cool crisp air of Fall! Please dear powers that be…give me the cool crisp air of Fall…and a big thick slice of this amazingly yummy Dutch Apple Pie… with all of the tantalizing flavors this season has to offer!
I love the “new” poke cake fad. I think I love it because it’s like platform shoes, converse tennis shoes, bell bottom pants, swing dancing, or any fad that comes and goes…and comes back again! It reminds us of happy memories and good times. I think I was 8 when I had my first bite of “poke” cake. It was AMAZING! Only we didn’t call it “poke” cake. Times were simpler then…we just called it “Yum Yum Cake”. Why? Cause it was Yummy! It’s still one of my all time favorite cakes! I’ve changed things up a bit to give it a fun 4th of July look, but truthfully…it’s heavenly any time your lucky enough to have a piece.
I’ve got the perfect burger for your Memorial Day Weekend, or for that matter…any outdoor summer BBQ you’ve got planned! What’s better than a bacon cheeseburger? An “Inside Out” Bacon Cheeseburger! That’s right…let’s take delicious lean ground beef and stuff it with cheddar cheese and bits of crispy bacon? Then let’s load that beauty with all our favorite toppings…ripe tomatoes, green leave lettuce, red onion, pickles, and creamy avocado. I think it’s the perfect way to say “Hi Summer! Let’s get this party started!” It’s totally “Smoosh” worthy! (If you don’t know what “Smoosh” worthy is…they hot dog table is over there…lol!)
For two years I’ve been drooling over this Cheesecake. I decided it was high time I actually make it! So I did! It’s every bit as good as it looks. If you love cheesecake as much as I love cheesecake…you need to make this masterpiece! I think my husband may have made himself sick on this cheesecake he ate so much of it. (That my friends is an endorsement you can take to the bank!) Oh…and don’t let the Amaretto scare you off! Remember you can always “bring a cup of it to a boil to bake off the alcohol, if you don’t drink, and all you’re left with is the warm rich flavors of Amaretto. I do this all the time and leave a container of it in my spice cupboard for baking.
It’s almost time for my favorite foodie Holiday! No… It’s not Thanksgiving. It’s Cinco de Mayo! I love a holiday that allows me to have all the melted cheese and guacamole I want. Then there’s those chips and fresh salsa… and let’s not forget the Fried Ice Cream Cake! I have compiled all our favorites into one post with links to every single recipe. Let’s Fiesta!
I love all the wonderful fresh fruits and veggies this time of year has to offer. To celebrate I created this delectable Lemon Berry Angel Food Cake! Layer upon layer of sweet light angel food cake is topped with lemon pudding, lemon cream, and LOADS of fresh berries! Every kind I could get my hands on. It makes for one show stopping dessert that would look amazing on your Easter Dinner Table.
Keebler E.L. Fudge Striped Lemon Cream Pie Cookies are turned into beautiful Easter Bonnet Treats! This is such a fun “food craft” to do with your daughters or friends. I think they would be darling for a mother-daughter tea or a grand daughters princess party! The big bonus? They are super YUMMY! I mean a Lindor truffle on top? Come On!
I’m busy planning my Easter menu! I am a true believe that side dishes are as equally as important, if not more so, than the main dish. I live by the motto that the side dishes can be a “meal breaker”. (No pressure right?) Never fear! I’ve got lots of wonderful side dishes headed your way and I’m starting out with this really easy and super delicious Broccoli Puff. It has a light, fluffy cheese topper that will remind you of a vegetable souffle!
Cue the Bagpipes, dig out the Kilt, and invite the Leprechauns’ over! It’s time to stoke up the Slow Cooker so you can make this truly delicious traditional St. Patty’s day feast!
